Biography

Born in São Paulo, João started playing drums as a teenager. At the age of 15, he already subbed his teacher in local performances. His hunger for improvised music brought him to Berlin in 2011, where he soaked up the different scenes of the city for five years. After graduating from the University of Music Dresden, he moved to Cologne to be inspired again by a new scene. There he attends the Cologne University of Music and Dance as a master student.
